  • There has been a twitter and blog fuss about the GoDaddy ad during the Superbowl. The interesting thing is not whether the ad was appropriate / effective but the speed with which reaction (and action) to it evolved, driven by twitter. Twitter is changing the game, especially in terms of issues and crisis management – because it has stripped away the time lag between an event and its subsequent circulation within media. This space used to be a key asset for comms professionals. Now we all have to operate 'live' in real time. To paraphrase a former British prime Minister – "Twitter can be all the way around the World before an unprepared comms professional has got their boots on"
