I mentioned the launch of a Mahalo – a new search engine – a while back. To see how it is doing (what it is doing) check out the difference between a Google search and a Mahalo search on iPhone. As predicted, it is closer to wikipedia – but a pretty good resource that draws much of the best from both wikipedia and conventional search. Its definitely worth Mahalo-ing as a complement to Google-ing I would say.
It also gives an interesting clue as to the possible future of mediated content aggregation (and therefore the media).
Update: this has just been published on the Mahalo blog – gives guidance on how best to use it. I am officially a fan!
