Th creation and management of networks, alongside the creation and management of ideas, is going to be one of the core communications competencies of the future. Here are examples of two approaches. Reuters (via Jeff Jarvis) is going to be using an existing infrastructure (MySpace) to create a network for its subscribers and on the other hand this NY Times article focuses on organisations that are producing tools to allow people (individual citizens or organisations) to build bespoke networks.
This is going to be a very important area to watch.
